Sixth real invention

I used it several times today and, honestly, I took it for granted.  I’m so used to just picking it up and talking.  The telephone has changed how we communicate.  It used to be a voice-only device, but now you can text with it, email with it, or send pictures with it.  I’m sure there’s an app for Morse code, too.  Think about all of the ways our phones can be used to share that awesome news from heaven’s throne room:

  • You call your friend to check up on them.
  • Your friend calls you to see why you called them because you didn’t leave a message and they weren’t sure whether or not you texted so they decided . . . .
  • You send your mom a text to tell her thanks for seeing to it that you went to Sunday school as a kid.
  • You take a picture of the crowd at the worship service you are at.  Later you share that picture with someone who is feeling left out.  You follow it up with an invitation.
  • Someone calls you to see what you are doing Friday night.  You tell them and then ask what they are doing Sunday morning.
  • You send an email to . . .
  • You receive an e-card from . . .

When you answer that next vibration or You Start Me Up ring tone, think how you can use that phone to pass on the message that you’ve heard.  Remember, God made the first call when he said to follow him.  Did you answer?
