Honorable mention invention

With each of the last seven posts, one invention has argued in my mind for a higher bidding.  This invention gave me some of my first glimpses of Jesus.  It opened my eyes to the way others must have seen Moses.  It gave my young mind clarity as I tried to figure out what a ‘tomb’ was.  The invention?  Flannelgraph.  Someone somewhere had 5 extra yards of flannel, a stack of pictures of long-hair guys in robes, and a bottle of glue.  The result has given countless children a 2-D image of the people, places, and things of Bible-times.  Until I saw Peter in a boat on dark blue felt, I wondered what he must have looked like.  Until I saw that yellow explosion-looking burst contrasting against the light blue felt background, I couldn’t fathom what God’s voice must have looked like.  To Mr. Flannel and Mr. Graph: thank you from all of us.
