Forgotten

The nativity sets are still up in front of some places.  Most Christmas lights will keep flashing for a couple of more weeks.  Prices have been slashed on inflatable snowmen and extra-large rolls of wrapping paper.  The garbage collectors have hauled off everyone’s 8 extra black bags of trash.  And Jesus is forgotten.  For a few hours he was remembered.  Some met in church buildings, some read the gospel accounts of his birth, some posted Facebook messages about him.

Then the calendar read December 26 . . . December 27 . . . .

It will be more than 360 days until the world seems invited to call on him again.

Don’t wait that long.

He’s your present every day.  He’s present every day.
