I shared the ducks with some people today. Our family has been going to feed them off and on over the last few weeks. Their ‘home’ is a large retention pond at the back of a huge parking lot. Sometimes the geese are in on the feedings, too. A loaf of bread can bring a lot of happy-sounding quacks and honks.
Today we were able to see Mama duck and her little ducklings head back our way. Even the fuzzy little followers knew what the fluffy, white chunks were. If they were quicker than their older friends they would even get a piece in their beaks. The funny part was watching Mama slide her head parallel to the ground and charge after anyone who was getting too close to her kids. Sometimes she’d even nip at another duck in case they didn’t get the earlier message.
Did you know God protects you? Sure he does! He’s always around you and he’s protecting you. It doesn’t mean nothing bad will ever come your way. It doesn’t mean things will always be perfect. It does mean he’s always close by. It does mean you’ll get what you need.
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3, NIV)
